I have been enjoying playing a card game ‘Sopio’ that my son discovered a few weeks ago. Some of the cards have lots of words that I have not been able to read without my reading glasses. Coming up to 50, I have to get used to using the reading glasses – or so I thought!
My distant vision is great but my arms are just not long enough to hold things far enough away to be able to read small print without the glasses. Rather than wear the glasses I had started to limit reading newspapers to just the headlines or read the paper while standing next to the kitchen table. I have never felt comfortable wearing glasses. I have even had to deprive myself the pleasure of wearing sunglasses even though they look so smart (sigh)!
Yesterday evening it suddenly dawned on me that I had not been struggling to read without my glasses all day. So I tried playing Sopio without them – and discovered to my delight that I could.
This morning when I woke up the thought that surfaced was – of course near vision is about seeing what is under my nose. It made me wonder if the enhanced self awareness that I am experiencing during the 21 day meditation offered by Deepak Chopra and Oprah Winfrey is helping improve my eyesight too.
I feel that my daily Reiki practice over the years has enabled me to dive deep and experience these benefits from the meditations. They seem to be very enriching – just like the icing on the cake – yum.
This makes me wonder if doing inner work could help with a lot of our physical symptoms. I would love to hear from you if you have any thoughts or experiences to share.
