When you look at this photo of Insulin plant, what do you notice? Does your attention go to the flower or the bud?
This morning I woke up with the realisation that I have been longing for awakening and blossoming. In that moment I remembered this photo and realised that I need to give attention to the dormant parts too, the parts that are yet to blossom and are closed tightly like a bud.
At the first full moon meditation this year with my meditation teachers Dr. Lorin Roche and Camille Maurine, I learnt about tending, being with the tension and increasing my capacity to be with what needs my attention. Knowing questions are more important than answers, and the value of getting the question right, I made this teaching a question. This morning I meditated with the question – If I could tend to the mystery of the bud within, and the dormant parts of my being, I wonder what it would feel like.
As I tend to the mystery of how I am in the present moment, and be with myself just as I am, It seems I am better able to align with the creative power of the Universe. I feel this power loves each one of us unconditionally and wants each one of us to awaken and blossom. From what little I have learnt so far, it seems that what I desire will come not by running after it. It is more likely to come through being present with what is. Or perhaps I need to meditate with this question – If I could tend to the mystery of desires, I wonder what it would feel like!
I cannot help wondering if this is a gift from the insulin plant and Diabetes too!
