I am not an expert in meditation. Yet I feel ready to share my experience of meditation to explore this practice further. The purpose is to be together and meditate to be able to benefit from the group energy. I feel meditating with other people helps all of us strengthen our meditation practice.

Why Restorative Yoga

The yoga class has become one of the highlights of my week. I look forward to it every week and miss it when it does not happen. Sometimes I feel deeply relaxed, sometimes I feel very loved and deeply nurtured, sometimes I experience deep emotional releases, all this simply from lying in a comfortable yoga posture. Lying wrapped in blankets in super comfortable postures has sometimes felt like being in the womb.

Letting go

I felt that when I am not able to enjoy life, one reason is because of the weight of the burdens I am carrying. This weight can come from many different sources. Some of it could be due to the stress and the wounds I have encountered through life that I am still carrying. Some of it could be my misperceptions about what is happening in my life.

This realisation helped me feel really grateful for my daily Reiki practice as I know that Reiki helps me to let go of what is presenting in the outer layer of my being each time I give myself a Reiki treatment. When I receive a Reiki treatment from another person, I know that the healing can go even deeper.

Politics and Spirituality

The next morning I woke up with the realisation that what was happening in the country with Xenophobia, was playing out in my own home too. Mercifully at a smaller scale though. Much as I love my daughter, I was struggling with sharing what I had started to think of as my space.

Somehow this realisation helped me to see the ways in which I can be intolerant. It seems to have helped bring a part of me that I was not so conscious of, into conscious awareness. It is not a part that I am happy to own. But I know that as I become aware of it and accept it, I will not keep getting triggered by it unexpectedly.
