Reiki and Zen

I loved reading these words in a book on Zen Philosophy recently as this sums up beautifully my Reiki practice also. As a Reiki student I do not have to wait to reach a perfect state before being able to practice Reiki. This feels true for all levels of Reiki, indeed for all new students, irrespective of the level of Reiki initiation they have received.

Reiki and planting seeds

Everytime I do a Reiki sending using my level 2 practice, I feel that I am planting seeds that will come to fruition at the right time. I also feel that with my daily self treatment, I am nurturing all the seeds that I have been planting.

Breathing, Reiki and balance

I suffer from asthma. So today I sent Reiki for balance in my relationship with my breath. During the sending what I received was the thought that with each in-breath I am open to receiving all that I need in my life – health, happiness and abundance; and with each out-breath , I am open to letting go of all that does not serve me anymore, I am open to giving all that I am here to give. Following on from this, a thought came that each time I pray or send Reiki to ask the universe for help, if I balance the request with giving/releasing – so that I can give what I am here to give or serve as I am here to serve, I feel that my request or prayer is more likely to come to fruition.

Struggling with reading glasses? Read on…

My distant vision is great but my arms are just not long enough to hold things far enough away to be able to read small print without the glasses. Rather than wear the glasses I had started to limit reading newspapers to just the headlines or read the paper while standing next to the kitchen table. I have never felt comfortable wearing glasses. I have even had to deprive myself the pleasure of wearing sunglasses even though they look so smart (sigh)!

Fear of being judged

It seemed so appropriate to be focussing on the heart as we need to listen to our heart to allow our loving truth, our light to shine. What came up for me during the meditation was that I need to allow myself, ie give myself permission for my loving truth to shine. What holds me back is my fears – fear of being judged being one of them.
